So Much

I’m running out of days to be thankful before running out of things to be thankful for! I’m thankful for material things today, though. My pickup Patsy, for one. She’s not much to look at these days, but I still love her. She serves her purpose & I’m not intimidated by people on the road, as I would be if I drove something smaller. I’m also thankful for my KitchenAid mixer. (thanks momma, great wedding present!) I don’t know how I survived without one all this time…

Thankful Day 20

Thankful I am emotional. It means I care. That I have a heart. That I can be sympathetic (although I may choose to be apathetic). Thankful I’m picky, why settle for less than what I really deserve? Thankful I can be stubborn, sometimes my ideas are just better & you don’t realize it until I’ve talked myself blue telling you 😉  Thankful I don’t have to be perfect. Thankful for the One that was, & thankful I know Him…

Day 8

Today I am thankful for a couple of brilliant ladies! My work momma, Robin, who has to watch every move I make. I very nearly wore the tags on my sweater to the big to-do annual meeting tonight. She saved me a lot of embarrassment & spared me from being called Minnie Pearl all night. I am also thankful for my good friend Christy who is also my hairdresser. She helps me & my unruly mop the best she can. I’m totally at ease with her & is a lot of fun to be around. Stylists double as therapists, you know. My hair was one of two things I didn’t worry about on my wedding day. Thats saying a lot because I am a World Class Worrier. Fortunate to have these two women in my life for many years. Blessed to call them dear friends. 11-8-12 7:56pm…

Thankful Day 3

Day three: Thankful that I have a fun place to work (most days).  Thankful for the fudge lady who bakes awesome cinnamon raison bread.  Thankful that I know most of the clientele and they are friendly and care enough to ask how I’m doin’, how Johnny’s doin’, how Crockett’s doin’, and how my momma’s doin’ 🙂  Some even bring me oreos! Thankful that most of my co-workers are more like family than fellow inmates. Thankful that when I’m sad, they cheer me up, when I’m tired, they bury me with even more work to push me over the edge, and when I’m angry, they pick on me till I’m over it or stomp off even madder.  Thankful we have the prettiest Co-op in the state & people always tell us so.  That being said, I am also thankful that renovation is over…

Room to Grow

Thankful today for my vision so that I can see God’s beauty, thankful for my hearing so I can listen to the Word, thankful for my voice so that I can tell others about Him, & I’m thankful for my health. So thankful. And lucky…

Thankful Day 18

A conglomeration of a few years to get a decent length. And it’s coincidental that I was thinking about speeding tickets on two different years. This was before Facebook memories came along, so I wasn’t cheating.  I’m thankful for my warm coats. That’s right, I’m fortunate enough to have a selection. It breaks my heart that there are people out there who have to stand in line to get one donated to them. Pitiful. I’m also thankful I’ve not had any speeding tickets this year. Monumental. 2013 7:13 pm Cookies in the oven, It’s a Wonderful Life on tv, I’m decorating the big tree, & Shug is…well, he’s observing all the merriment from the depths of the couch 🙂 it’s a good day. Thankful for all these blessings & so many more 2012 1:35pm Thankful I haven’t acquired a speeding ticket this year. Thankful I made it home safe yet again, & that Shug didn’t eat my cookies while I was gone 🙂 2011 8:58pm…

More Integral Little Things

I’m thankful the rain has stopped. I’m thankful for McDonald’s hot french fries. I’m thankful I know how to spell. And I’m thankful for a closet full of clothes & shoes…ok, ok….more than one closet…

Day 7

One week into the month of Thankfulness & today I am thankful for Monday off, & I am thankful for a house to clean. Although at this moment I’m sitting on the couch watching Friends. The next year:  Today I am thankful that Obama can’t run for President again.  I am thankful that most of my friends voted.  I am thankful that for the most part, we all voted whichever way we wanted & didn’t get into heated arguements about our beliefs.  The nation is divided down the center on most issues, it seems.  I hope that we can live peaceably for the next few years & don’t become a victim of terrorism again, & I pray that we don’t have another Civil War.  I am also thankful that all this rain isn’t snow. 11-7-12 10:36 am…
