First & foremost, I’m thankful I’m not a vegetarian. Thankful I don’t have to go into work tonight or some crazy hours tomorrow with this full belly. Thankful I’m not desperate enough to go out in the ungrateful masses storming the stores to save another almighty dollar. I, unlike mainstream America, am completely content staying in watching movies & decorating trees. How ’bout you?

This is the first time in twenty years that I will be off until Monday. A life of retail, with a few years at dispatch, guaranteed no consecutive days of rest.

I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with myself, but I’m reasonably certain it will involve several bottles of wine, books, & maybe a Christmas tree. I’m not leaving the house.

Thank you emergency services for breaking up the fights of too much togetherness & the saving of lives after overindulgence all around.

Thankful for a day to get caught up on housework, as weird as that sounds. Sometimes life is busy & I don’t even have kids! Not that I would be willing to eat off the floors, mind you. Also thankful for my other mother across the hill who provided lunch for Shug & I today- Mary Adams her bar-be-que is dee-lish-ooouss 🙂 And, as an added bonus, I got to see my bestie who lives in a whole ‘nother time zone now!

I’ve made it through the day without a nap, any major catastrophes (although for an intense few minutes I was terrified I had put vanilla in the green beans instead of soy sauce…I had them both on the counter), stress, or pie.

Until now.

It’s time for pie.

And I’m excited.

Thanksgiving.. When you get ‘wishing you well’ texts from numbers you don’t have stored and you’re not sure if they’re reciprocating to a bulk text from a mutual contact & have the ‘reply to all’ option selected so you don’t want to ask & make them feel unloved, or outdated.

I’m cooking Thanksgiving for just me & Johnny today. I kinda wanted to see if I could do it & didn’t want company in case I blow it lol. A whole turkey is kind of disgusting looking, fyi. So far, so good…as far as I know. Ask me again around two. The only thing I’ve done crazy as of yet is leave my phone in the fridge. I could hear it pinging but couldn’t find it.
